Bio

My name is Mateo Payan, and I am from Cali, Colombia. I started playing golf at four years old since my brother, father and grandfather played it. I used to go with them to hit balls and accompany them through the golf course, but I didn’t truly understand the sport. On a summer vacation, I dedicated myself to playing for fun, and I liked it a lot. Step by step, I started to compete more and more, and every time I improved until I reached a level where I truly felt passionate about the sport. It was then that I decided to give it my all for the sport. I am currently the number one player in Colombia in the Junior category. This year, I was chosen as a Colombia team to go to the South American Junior championship and many other tournaments from which I have learned a lot. After all those experiences, I have been practicing very hard to fulfill my goal of one day being a professional golfer
